The Light of the Morn'

A phone call woke me up this morn'
At 5 AM, annoying, sure,
But in the dark, I lay awake
And so decided I would take
A walk in the light of the morn'

I greeted my mother before she left
Brought a smile to her face
Dressed and stretched, and put on shoes
Let the world know of the good news
Of my walk in the light of the morn'

A step, a prayer, a smile, a glance
The sunrise greeted me, how nice!
The cool breeze blew back my hair,
I took pictures of what I found there,
During my walk in the light of the morn'

Me and God in solitude,
As the world slept on, my hope grew,
Things aren't always perfect, no...
But somehow, the sun and breeze showed
Things were okay in the light of the morn'

The sunrise was so beautiful
In the light of the morn'
I could not even capture the hue
With my camera, the yellow, orange, and blue
Imprinted on my mind, the light of the morn'.

My walk is over, finished now
I'm sleepy, but it's okay.
I enjoyed my early morning today
Perhaps tomorrow I'll again enjoy
The light of the morn'.
