How Things Work

The earth exists in a special spot
Allowing flow of liquid water
Which wouldn't be possible
If we were much more cold or hotter

The earth renews itself
New land to create
With every slow movement
Of each tectonic plate

We don't lose anything
In the cyclic rise and fall
Of earth's precious water
A thousand years, we'll have it all

Grass grows on it's own will
And can't be told to stop
It brightens green and lovely
With every little drop

Rotation gives us night and day
A time to rest, a time to play

Seasons come from tilt and revolution
Testimony to God's creative institution

So we worry not
That the world may fall apart
But instead, we can focus
On matters of the heart.
